The visitors insurance ins and outs are something that ever customer should be aware of. The visitor insurance falls into four broad categories namely, fixed coverage plan, comprehensive coverage plan, specialty coverage plan and accidental coverage plan. The visitor medical insurance, visitor health insurance or any other visitor insurance falls under these categories.
The fixed coverage plan is much cheaper than the comprehensive coverage plans. It is also called a scheduled benefit plan. When it comes to dealing with this type of visitor insurance, you first have to pay a small deductible (in accordance with policy norms and terms), then the insurance company pays a set maximum amount to every procedure such as $55 for doctor’s fee, $450 for ambulance service etc. But you have to pay the difference beyond that yourself. There is no way to figure out the actual percentage of expenses that will be covered by your visitors insurance.
Although fixed coverage plans are cheaper than the comprehensive coverage plans it do not provide better coverage than the comprehensive coverage plans. In this comprehensive type of visitor insurance you first have to pay the deductible like that of the fixed coverage plan then the insurance company pays you 80% for the first $5,000 for eligible medical expenses while you have to pay the remaining 20% in visitor medical insurance or visitor health insurance plan. The insurance company will pay 100% of the maximum policy for eligible medical expenses after $5,000.
Almost all the comprehensive coverage plans are PPO plans. Many providers are contracted by the insurance company all over the country so that they directly participate in the network accept the insurance card and bill the insurance company and charge the network negotiated fees that are lower than the regular fees.
In almost every aspects specialty coverage plans are similar to the comprehensive coverage plan. But the benefits may be limited or not be present or it may be out of the pocket expense that might be more than the standard comprehensive plans. The accidental coverage plan are lot different than the fixed or compre4hensive plans as it has no coverage or limited coverage for the disease or sickness. Although it do not have coverage it works the same as the comprehensive coverage plans for accidents or injuries.
Visitor medical insurance, visitor health insurance and accidental plans are components of visitors insurance. Thus when you understand the details of all these types of plans, you realize the various visitors insurance ins and outs.
