Organising A Hen Party

by Mariko Conisuellian

Hen parties and bachelorette parties have been a very popular way to celebrate the single status of a woman before she gets married since the 1960’s. This night is always memorable and there are many strategies to make sure they are both memorable and successful.

You may want to organize a hen party that is so special and innovative so that it stays on in the bride’s memory for the rest of her lifetime. Some exciting hen party ideas involve inviting a few of the bride’s closest pals over to a disco, or participating in the bride’s favorite carnivals, or you may arrange a get together party in her chosen outdoor location. If you are the bride’s closest pal you should have good knowledge about her likes and dislikes.

Having a party that is theme based can be very successful. For example if the bride enjoys being pampered then organising a spa evening would make her night memorable and special. You could do this by arranging massages, nail treatments, a makeover and champagne.

Theme based hen parties can be great fun to organise as there is a lot you can do to entertain the bride. Taking your bride to a nightclub is also a popular hen party idea. Other ideas include going to see a comedian, going to the opera or the ballet, going to a spa for the day or organising a short break away.

Another idea for a hen/bachelorette party is a cocktail night or a fancy dress evening. These are just examples from many options that you can choose to make the hen night special. Other ways to make the night special are to involve different games. Such as Chinese whispers, truth or dare, the hand bag game, a selection of drinking games, a naughty treasure hunt, dam busters and many more. Each of these games will add to the fun and frolic of the nights events.
