North Cyprus is a neutral country when it comes to religion and you will find a very cosmopolitan mixture in this region of Cyprus. The island of Cyprus is the 3rd largest throughout the Mediterranean coming after Sardinia and Sicily, and it is situated at 65 km south of Turkey. There are several other countries in this region including Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel and Greece.

In 1974 Cyprus was divided into 2 countries with the Turkish Cypriots living on the north and the Greek Cypriots in the south. Real estate tends to be a lot more cheaper in the North than anywhere else in the Mediterranean Sea, so you will always be able to find a bargain there or a cheap rental.

The shape that Cyprus has taken has come about through the side pressures formed during different geological ages. This has lead to the creation of Capes where the hasn’t been able to cope with the sea’s erosion and also the creation of Gulfs, where the land was not able to cope with the sea’s erosion.

There are two capes, Zafer Cape at the end of the Karpaz peninsula and Korucam Cape to the west. The two gulfs are at Guzelyurt and Famagusta. All this makes North Cyprus a famous tourist destination and gives opportunity for many North Cyprus Villas to survive and flourish.

You won’t be able to visit North Cyprus without seeing a most amazing Mountain range called Kyrenia or the Five Finger Mountains. As mountain ranges go it is quite narrow really, just 130 km long running parallel to the coast and totalling 260 sq Km. The mountains are mainly composed of limestone, dolomite, and marble. Fortunately there are many North Cyprus villas in the region so you will able to benefit from cheap accommodation and fantastic panoramic views.

The largest spring in the North Cyprus is in this range near Five Finger Mountains. The fertile north coast is chiefly covered with olive and carob trees. Most of these villas also give the view of the Mesaoria plain, which lies in the centre of the island, between the Kyrenia Mountains and the Troodos Mountains in the south.
