As attractions go Edinburgh’s most popular has to be its most famous, Edinburgh Castle. High above the main shopping street it is a fantastic back drop to this wonderful historical city. Depending on when you visit Edinburgh you may be lucky enough to attend an event at the castle. Obviously the most famous is the Military Tattoo which takes place every August and usually sells out very very quickly. Other events include pop concerts with world famous singers and pop bands.
Another popular attraction is the Scottish Parliament buildings which operate tours all year around the landmark building. Nearby you could complete your day out with a visit to Dynamic Earth where visitors can learn about the planet in a fun and educational way.

There is a vast choice of accommodation options available in Edinburgh from small family run bed and breakfasts and youth hostels to the very best five star accommodation. As a general rule you will pay more for accommodation in better locations nearer the city centre than a short journey away.
If you plan to visit Edinburgh during the Festival months or at New Year make sure you book as early as possible to get the best prices. You may actually fin that everything is full at any price. There is a good selection of small family run bed and breakfast properties all the way up to the best five star accommodation.
Book up as early as possible and you can could have a great value short break in Edinburgh and give yourself more money to spend while you are there than on travelling there.
